<description>&#60;p&#62;This is almost pointless to post. Since to the best of my knowledge, nobody has even seen the forums yet. &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;But they will, because the forums are where you'll find some instruction on how to modify your blog's look and title graphics. &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;I'm very, very afraid that I will soon be also re-writing the K2 based theme I'm using here in order to make it really match the rest of the project. I also need to start adding some of the groovy plugins that will make this forum/board more familiar and user friendly. &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;I do want to say that so far, I think that K2 really, really kicks ass. &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;That is all.

<title>AngryBob on "TTF Titles"</title>

<description>&#60;p&#62;The graphics used for the Blog Title, Description and Post Titles are created by a plugin called TTF Titles.&#60;br /&#62;
     This plugin allows you to upload fonts and create styles so that your options for the look are nearly endless.&#60;br /&#62;
     I will soon be implementing the use of two styles for each blog, since using one makes it look strange on either the white content (post titles) or in the colored header (description and header).&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;     Here's how to do it!&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;     From the design menu, select TTFTitles.  This will bring up the Styles options. Here you will find a bunch of sample styles.  If one of these styles suits you (which it probably won't), feel free to use it by clicking 'make default style' to the right.  The theme will take care of the sizing (as long as it's a fairly standard font - some fonts are very small or large by design, and will be even larger or smaller when used in the K2 style).&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;    Above the samples, click 'Fonts'.  This will bring up a list of all of the fonts available to be used for your Title, and allow you to see what they look like. You can also see how standard the font size is by comparing it to the others.  Note that Landsdowne is a smaller font, while the others are pretty much the same size.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;    To upload a new font for your blog, you must first find and download a font from the internets.  Just google 'free fonts' and you should get thousands of sites offering thousands of fonts.  Find one you like, download it to your computer and if necessary, unzip it.&#60;br /&#62;
     On the TTFTitles fonts options page, click on 'browse' (above the fonts list).  When the window comes up, locate your new font, select it and click 'open'.  This will upload the font and put it in the font folder on the website.  You can see what it looks like in comparrison to the others and decide if it's a good size (if that matters to you).&#60;br /&#62;
     Then click on styles and select 'add new style'.  &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;     IMPORTANT!  You will be creating two styles.  One must be named 'header' and the other must be named 'post'.  'header' will be the blog title and description.  It will be on the colored background that you have chosen in the styles option for K2.  'post' will be used for the post titles and will be on a white background.  Keep this in mind as you design your style.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Here we go: &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Style Name: This is where you will enter 'header' or 'post' (no quotes, all lower case).&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Image Type: Leave this set at PNG.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Font Name: Select your font from the drop down menu.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Font Size: Leave this at 24.  K2 will adjust the size as set in the code, which is rigidly set (and is why the design size of the font is mildly important).&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Lettercase: This is default to be unchanged. You can set it so that it's in all upper or lowercase if you'd like. &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Font Color: This will be the color of the inside of the font.  It must have the # in front of it and be in hex (numbers and letters- example white is #FFFFFF, blue us #0000FF).  You can find a great list of colors at &#60;a href=&#34;http://www.w3schools.com/HTML/html_colornames.asp&#34; rel=&#34;nofollow&#34;&#62;http://www.w3schools.com/HTML/html_colornames.asp&#60;/a&#62; &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;BG Color: As above, but this is the color behind the font.  If you want it to match the header, choose the header color (I will be putting the hex code in the style names soon, or just ask me).&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;BG Transparent: Leave this checked.  If you want to see what it's like unchecked, go ahead and uncheck it - you can always edit later if you don't like it.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;BG Image: Ignore this, unless you want to put an image in the background.  It probably won't look right with the graphic, and there's no easy way to upload and use them anyway.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Left Indent: Leave at 0.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Maximum Width: Leave at 500.  Any bigger and it runs the risk of being to large for the blog.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Sub Indent and Leading: Leave these at 20 and 5 respectively.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Effect: You can choose No Effect, Soft Shadow or Hard Shadow.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Soft Shadow:&#60;br /&#62;
     Color: This will be the color of the shadow, enter like above colors.&#60;br /&#62;
     Spread: This is how large the shadow will be, in pixels, from the font.  Larger spreads may bleed out of the graphic and look clipped.&#60;br /&#62;
     Offset: This is how far you want the shadow to be moved from the font, setting both x and y to 2 will for example move the shadow down and to the right by 2 pixels. You can make the numbers different to achieve different looks. &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Hard Shadow:&#60;br /&#62;
     Inner and Outer color: Enter like above.  Hard shadow uses 2 colors.  I don't use hard shadow often, but you may like it. Feel free to play.&#60;br /&#62;
     Offset: There is only 1 number to be entered, the x and y axis offset will always be the same.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;     At the bottom, click the 'save style' button.  It will bring you to the styles list, where you can locate your style and see what you have done. If you don't like it, just click 'Edit' in the actions link on the right and make whatever changes you see fit.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Though you don't need to, you can select 'posts' for your default style.  This may come in handy in the future.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;And you're done!&#60;/p&#62;

<title>AngryBob on "Color, Columns, Header Images and more using the K2 options."</title>

<description>&#60;p&#62;Once you login to your blog, you will have a 'Site Admin' tab in your header, just above the posts.&#60;br /&#62;
Clicking on that tab will bring your to your Blog Administration 'Dashboard' (which is what it was once called in earlier versions of WordPress).  In the admin, find and click on the tab labeled 'design', then when the submenu opens, click the tab labeled 'K2 Options'.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;From the top now... &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Sidebar Manager:&#60;br /&#62;
     Leave this option unclicked.  This option does not behave well with the newer version of WordPress at this time. &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Columns:&#60;br /&#62;
     This offers you a choice of how many columns you wish to show on your blog.  Three Columns will be a wider page, with the content on the left, and two sidebars on the right.  Two Columns will have your content on the left, and one sidebar on the right (which will contain all of the widgets from both sidebars).  One Column will have all of the content in one column (obviously), with the sidebars side by side below the content.  These changes can be made on the fly, so feel free to play with them and choose how you'd like your blog to be displayed.&#60;br /&#62;
     Leave the box checked for 'Dynamically reduce the number of columns'. This will allow your blog to be viewed cleanly on smaller resolution screens. &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Advanced Navigation:&#60;br /&#62;
     Checking this box will give you the fancy search bar that allows users to search the blog without clicking a button.  Their search results will appear in the content column like science.  &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Archive Page:&#60;br /&#62;
     This will create a nice Archive page (which will show up in the header tabs).  This archive page will show your readers a Tag Cloud (which uses what you tag your posts, the more often you use a tag, the larger the tag will be in the cloud), the Archives by Month and the Archives by Categories.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Live Commenting:&#60;br /&#62;
     This option will allow your readers to leave comments which will magically appear by science without refreshing the page. &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Asides:&#60;br /&#62;
      Leave this off for now.  We may use it later.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Style:&#60;br /&#62;
      This is one you want.  In the drop down box, there will be a list of styles, all named ill-'color'.  Choose the color you want your site to be.  If there is a color you'd like that isn't there, let me know and I will hook you up.  There will soon be even more options utilizing different backgrounds and the like, but right now I don't have time for that.  But soon.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Header:&#60;br /&#62;
     If you have images uploaded for the header, this is where you can choose which one you want (if you have more than one, anyway) or to display them at random.  There is also a link to the custom image header option which will allow you to upload a header and crop it to fit, or just change the color of the header altogether.&#60;br /&#62;
     You can also change the name that the header tab uses for the blog.&#60;br /&#62;
     When you're done with making your changes, click the black 'save changes' button near the top of the window and check out what you've done.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Next we'll talk about changing the font and styles used in your header and blog post titles.&#60;/p&#62;

<description>&#60;p&#62;So you have an Ill-Literati blog thingy... now what?&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Ill-Literati.org is currently using the K2 WordPress theme.  The reason I chose this theme is that it's wickedly customizable by the end user, while still maintaining a uniform theme across the site. &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;The options that you have available to you are many.  You can change the color of the theme, change the font graphics used on the blog title, description and post title. You can change the number of columns you have on your blog and you can add a graphic to the header background. &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;In the next few topics, I'll be giving a rundown on how to change the settings on K2 so that you can get things looking the way you want them to look.
